Hotel lobby, near the coffee shop.

[And Ray will actually see him there. He's doing a good job of demonstrating his own paranoia, seated at a table with a clear view of the doors and somewhere that he can see who else comes in. His backpack is on the table in front of him, the books inside. He might have a couple handfuls of people here that he trusts, but there are a lot more he doesn't.]

[Nathan shows up not long after, and as he stops at the table where Ray's sitting, he looks him over, frowning]

Should I have picked somewhere more -- I don't know, quiet or whatever?

[because that's absolutely some textbook paranoia right there]

[Ray waves that off.] Nah, we're good. Things get more sensitive, we can take it elsewhere.

[He nods to the seat across from him.] Pull up a chair.

[As Nate does that, Ray sits up a little to open his backpack, pulling out the books in question.]

[he relents, shrugging]

Alright.

[and then he's slipping into the seat opposite Ray, taking a second to pull his notebook from his back pocket as he does so]

Okay, so. What've we got?

[Ray's brought all the books he grabbed at the cultists' abandoned camps, because he figures it'll be better if everyone he trusts has all the information.

The first one he brings out is a book on multiple universes and how to reach them; the second, a collection of texts about Asmodeus being the one to "unite all under misery". The third contains information about an unimaginable horror from the deep, and the last is about a strengthening spell that will drain any connected to it, turning them into mindless creatures.]

I think I said, but I picked these up back on the island while we were scouting things out.

[immediately, Nathan goes for the book on Asmodeus]

You know, I've got a little bit written down about him, in my journal. [a beat] Just little stuff I could remember from home, you know? [like how Asmodeus is representative of lust, for example]
